Bravida Medical, previously Argentum Medical, is a leading worldwide manufacturer of innovative antimicrobial solutions with an emphasis on the hospital and surgery center markets. The company is headquartered in and operates its manufacturing facility in Geneva, IL. It was founded in 2001 and was backed by Shore Capital Partners, a Chicago, IL-based private equity firm. It is now backed by MountainGate Capital.
The Bravida Medical portfolio includes branded antimicrobial dressings, gels and cleansers for the management of surgical and other wounds. The brands include Silverlon®, Anasept®, Silver-Sept®, and TheraBond 3D.
Innovative antimicrobial solutions
Silverlon
Silverlon dressings are used for the management of surgical site and blood stream infections. The surface of every Silverlon dressing is plated with pure silver, an antimicrobial that has been trusted for thousands of years. Containing up to 50 to 100 times the silver ion content of silver impregnated dressings, Silverlon has been recognized by numerous peer-reviewed and independent research as the leading antimicrobial wound care dressing with fast eradication times for MRSA and other pathogens. The dressings are commonly used in hospitals across orthopedic, colorectal, labor & delivery and cardiac surgeries as well as vascular access and circulatory support.
Anasept and Silver-Sept
Anasept and Silver-Sept lines of antimicrobial skin and wound gels and cleansers are commonly used in the treatment of hard-to-heal wounds. The products are used to mechanically remove debris and inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi that are found in the wound bed as well as helping to maintain a moist wound environment that is conducive to healing. The active ingredients in Anasept and Silver-Sept are sodium hypochlorite and 200μg/gram total silver, respectively. The products are completely colorless, isotonic, non-cytotoxic, tissue compatible and are available in a range of formulations and delivery mechanisms.
TheraBond 3D®
TheraBond 3D Wound Care controls bioburden and minimizes maceration for a broad array of wounds including partial and full thickness wounds, tunneling wounds, traumatic wounds, venous leg, diabetic foot and pressure ulcers, donor sites, 1st and 2nd degree burns and wounds being prepared for grafting.
